My Approach

Being a therapist is a great honor as I join individuals and families as they journey toward a happier and more harmonious life.  Supporting individuals and families as they work to overcome obstacles in connecting to themselves and one another makes every day fulfilling. I understand how the human being needs to balance all three modes of existence in order to reach … joy.  approach to therapy Person-Centered Counseling,  My particular area of expertise is in working with children from ages 5 to 18 years of age and their families to improve symptoms of depression, anxiety, inattention, boundary setting within the family. I also specialize in trauma, and self-esteem, individuals who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, relational issues, postpartum issues, and phase of life transitions. approach in treatment of families and individual, meaning I explore the identified concerns in terms of relationships, including your relationship to yourself, and social environment.  as a guide toward action and change utilizing Play Therapy

 

Throughout my professional career, I have worked with a variety of people in different settings including social service agencies, schools and private practice. In my private practice, I help people who’ve gone through rough times in their past – such as childhood abuse, domestic violence, growing up with an alcoholic parent; and people who are currently going through difficult times – challenging relationships, the stress of parenting, family members with mental illnesses. I have had the opportunity to provide therapy to people of many ages including preschoolers, teens, and adults of all ages. I strive to take into consideration my client’s cultural experiences and am comfortable with people from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
